What a Week!

Our Year 6 pupils and staff have worked their way through the SATs Week with determination, passion and focus; Monday to Thursday went in a blur of papers and strict timings! Huge thanks to everyone that has supported them, from parents and carers at home, through to Miss Warrington, Mrs Scadden and Mr Webb in the Oak Team, who have provided fanstastic support and guidance to our pupils, a weekly SATs Busters study group after school since January - and even been expert breakfast servers, this week. Well done to everyone.

As I type, the preparations are taking place for our May Fair. Again, you have all supported us brilliantly by providing great tombola prizes, and I am sure it will be so well attended. The money raised in such events goes directly into improving the school lives of all of our pupils. We do not tend to sit on pots of money for years, as we want the money raised to positive affect the pupils currently at school. Communication between PTA and school remains strong and our pupils have a powerful voice, also in how we prioritise this spending. Already, our Values Team have suggested areas where they want to see improvements, and I am delighted to listen and respond. Safeguarding is always a priority, so my thanks in advance for everyone ensuring pupils are safely picked up by the correct adults and maintain a watchful eye over your own children.

Year 4 also returned from a brilliant residential and, once again, it takes commitment from staff to make these special moments a reality. Our parental engagement tools, such as Clas Dojo, was used so effectively by Mrs Foster-Burnell to share wonderful photos like this one:

And, writing about a committed team, I have just come inside from the May Fair! What a brilliant afternoon spent with great people on our field. A huge thanks to all of you for supporting the school in this way. All families running stalls, bringing in tombola prizes, staying around until 5:15 on a beautiful Friday evening; it all adds up to making primary school life pretty special. Monday, I will publish another blog for the week ahead and any key events for after half term. Thanks, everyone!
