Our Community Action

“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”   Corinthians 9: 6-7

This Bible quote is our sprinboard into our Harvest Appeal for 2025, when we will be supporting Taunton Foodbank. Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks in The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public – that’s why our food donations are absolutely vital to them. The following image gives a precis of what they would love to receive from us:

We will make a display of this in our hall, ready for families to see on our Harvest Worship Day 1October 17th

Coming to School

Our total pupil attendance for the first 6 weeks is 98% and we thank families for working with us to maintain high levels of engagement across school, especially during a season where bugs are more prevalent. One key focus for us, as a school, is the start of the school day. Our 8:40am open-gate is a successful transition into school, and 8:50am is when registration opens and pupils begin their learning day. We close our registers just after 9am, so all pupils need to be in and ready for the day ahead. This gives families a 20minute window every morning to get to us. We are all aware of some of the challenges faced getting to us (and away from us!) some mornings, but starting promptly every day really does set the day up in the best possible way for all pupils. Our drop-off in the car park is always available for families, rather than looking for spaces out on the road. I would strongly encourage all families to utilise it.

Well Done

Huge well done to our Year 5 and 6 football squad who attended the small schools tournament, yesterday. Unbeaten in their league games - as well as not conceding a single goal - sees them through to the Area Finals in November!

And well done to all vice captains in school, who are now proudly wearing their badges. These pupils will lead their Saints' houses (St Thomas, St Mary, St Michael and St Peter) in inter-house sports across the year. More details to follow!
