General notices for families:
- Year 6 families: just a reminder that submissions for secondary places for 2026-2027 need to be completed by October 31st. You will be at risk of having no secondary school choice after this date.
- Flu vaccination information was sent out on September 8th, so probably worth reminding families (for 7th November). The information can be read in a previous blog here.
- The Herepath Half Marathon is on this Sunday, and Thurlbear School hosts the runners! Our PTA have been asking for cake donations all week, but there is still time to get involved! Cake donations can be taken to no 5 Bluebell Close, as stated on the PTA poster.
- HUISH TIGERS BASKETBALL have some sessions coming up for all ages! There is information on each poster and it looks like a great opportunity to try a sport that has been very popular here in school over this calander year in particular.
On Monday, we launch our after school clubs that will take us to Christmas. We have spoken to our Values Team about these clubs and Friday's club for Years 4 to 6 sounds great...more to follow! As it is a half term where we see less daylight and colder weather, we tend to focus on our Key Stage 2 groups and concentrate on the playground area. As always, our After School Club is still available for booking for all ages.
And, finally, a huge thanks to all families for the support of Taunton foodbank with our harvest collection. I was very proud watching the whole school come together in the morning and afternoon worship celebration, focussing on the things that matter most to us all at harvest. It has also been so noticeable at lunch on our field, with children playing with the leaves on the field, creating autumn bouquets and casting the spinning seed pods from sycamore maples high into the air! The fine weather has been a wonderful boost over these 7 weeks so far - and only 3 more days to go until a well-earned rest for them. Have a great and blessed weekend.
