Looking Ahead

Next week, our Year 6 travel to Barton Hall for their residential, which is always an exciting time. Thanks to Miss Warrington and the rest of the team for spending time away from their own families to ensure our Oak Class have the very best experience.

We have 2 more 2026 Parent Tours taking place, as families look around and experience our classes in full flow during the school day. During today's tour, it was a real privilege to listen in on phonics in Foundation Stage and Years 1 and 2, with the pupils fully focussed on their sounds and creating words. Across Key Stage 2, all classes were fully engaged in sessions of creative writing or maths, with excellent behaviour and attitudes to their learning.

We also have staff out on safeguarding training, data protection and neurodiversity courses, ensuring we have the latest guidance in school which will be cascaded to all staff. Earlier in the week, we shared the next PINS meeting being held at school (14th October):

The week beginning 13th October looks even busier, with Parent/ Carer Consultations on Monday to Thursday, PTA AGM (Tuesday 14th), a Full Governing Body Meeting (Tuesday) and 2 Harvest Services on Friday 17th. Once again this year, we would love to support Taunton Foodbank or a similar enterprise as we look to support our community over Harvest and beyond. More details about what to bring in will be shared early next week.

SPOTLIGHT ON HAZEL CLASS

Well done to Hazel Class, not only for a great Celebration Worship, but for their efforts in Art, this week. They have been studying shade and lines through the medium of charcoal, recording this in sketch books, and analysing peers' pieces.
