Governors

As Governors, we also serve to provide a source of both positive challenge and support to the Senior Leadership Team.

The Governors at Thurlbear School seek to make a positive contribution to the strategic leadership, life and development of the school, working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
The key role of the Governing Body is to set aims and objectives of the school, establishing targets and maintaining policies, and monitoring and evaluating progress, in line with the requirements set out by OFSTED. The Governing Body is supported by the Clerk to the Governors, Mrs Helen Hill.
The Annual General meeting takes place in September each year, with a further five Full Governing Body meetings during the school year. To support this, a number of sub-committees focus on Finance and Personnel, Premises and Teaching and Learning, to review and plan specific aspects of the school, curriculum and environment.
