We are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant
28 hours and 45 mins per week, Monday to Friday 8.45 am – 3.30pm, term time only. Grade 13 point 6 – 11 (£11.39 – £12.47) per hour depending on experience, pay award pending)
Thurlbear CE VA Primary School is a school on the edge of Taunton, but in the centre of the learning action. Our vision is to be an irresistible Church School and you need to want the same thing! We are looking to appoint a great teaching assistant to provide support in our classes. Ideally, we want someone who has real experience of working in an effective classroom environment and is fully committed to helping children to achieve their very best. We want a teaching assistant who wants to stand out, not be outstanding. Ideally (but not essential), we are looking for someone who also has experience of working with pupils with specific learning needs. If this is you, get in touch!
The successful applicant will:
• be positive, adaptable and flexible
• be patient and caring, whilst setting clear boundaries
• have experience with, or knowledge of, children with ASC
• have English and Maths to GCSE level or NVQ equivalent
• have excellent communication and organisational skills
• understand the importance of child protection and safe guarding
