Welcome back to all of our families. It is always a packed 13 weeks of events right across the school timetables. You can keep up to date in Class Dojo or Tapestry, as well as by saving the latest newsletters from each class, supplied by the teachers via those parental engagement tools. Each letter has personalised curriculum coverage, so all families are aware of what pupils are covering in class-time. They also contain pertinent points advice concerning homework, key dates and any top tips from individual teachers. Here is a great example from Year 5:

In school news, this could well be the last news blog on this site! By next Friday, I am hoping we are up and running with our new website designed by me and the school and created / hosted by School Spider. This will give us a fresh new look to our site and functionality taking us to a new level in communication and functionality. Look out for the new look!
CLUBS are now up and online, ready for payment. Street Surfing is full but there might be some spaces in other clubs! Next week, craft club (very few spaces) and recorders (a few spaces) start, which is very exciting. These all run until 4:30pm.
Thanks to WPA and Wilkie May and Tuckwood generous donations, we have new gym mats, goalposts, gymnastic vaulting equipment, rounders posts, footballs and hockey balls all turning up next week! This will greatly enhance our lunchtimes and games.
Holly – the Children, Schools and Families worker for Seven Sowers Benefice (and a Thurlbear parent) – led a great Collective Worship to introduce our Christian value of the half term: WISDOM. “True wisdom is found through a deep understanding of God’s ways” (Job) and, whilst no one can expect our Chestnut class to reflect a deep understanding right now, we speak all the time about making wise choices, learning from your mistakes and thinking: “What might happen if I do that?”.
Next week, we have Scott Chappell visiting us, from Somerset Cricket Foundation, leading some taster sessions across Yrs 2 – 6 and will be leading a cricket worship (intrigued!) for all classes.
Next week, Year 1 families have a reminder for the Phonics family session to be hosted by Mrs Lucas – Tuesday 2:30pm – in Rowan Class.
Next week, we have our May Dress Down Friday.
REQUEST: if anyone has any spare lego / duplo pieces or plastic mini-beasts for our Reception Class, that would be great! This is to support the learning in our Chestnut Class.

If a photograph had a fragrance…… those fields are incredible. We are blessed to be in such a place.
