Thurlbear PTA – Summer Fair

We need your help!
The summer term is full of events and activities, and we really need the help and support of the whole Thurlbear community to make it a success. Please let us know if you can help with any of the following:
Thurlbear School Has Talent!
Does your child have a secret, or maybe not so secret talent, they might like to showcase as part of the Summer Fair. They could sing, dance, do some magic, tell some jokes, play an instrument, dance with their dog etc. Please let us know if your child would like to participate so we can include them in the event.
Bottle & Chocolate Tombola
Bottle and Chocolate donations will be required for the ever-popular tombola stall. Please can we ask that all donations are still in date!
If you enjoy the odd glass of wine, please can you start saving some empty bottles along with old newspapers for us to use.
We would welcome any raffle prize donations that you are willing to give. Don’t be afraid to ask your favourite pub, restaurant, hairdresser, shop, tourist attraction for a voucher…. or your place of work may be able to donate a prize.
The cake stall is always a huge success and once again we look forward to receiving your contributions either home baked or shop bought. Any cakes for the stall should either be delivered on Friday 30th June to either the School office or (GDPR: check secure Dojo for the address!)
Pocket Money Stall
We are looking for donations of unwanted toys, puzzles, games and children’s books, in good condition that might be looking for a new home to add to our Pocket Money Stall.
Once again, each year group will be responsible for running and coordinating stalls at the event. Your Year Group Rep will be sending out messages seeking help and volunteers to help with this so please do volunteer to help if you can.
Finally, and most importantly, we continue to look for parent volunteers to assist us on the day. This could be assisting in the set-up, an hour or two during the event, and/or in the post-fair clean up. The more help we get the more enjoyable the event will be on the day for all of us.
All donations to be taken to the School Office w/c 24th June.
We are hoping to widen the membership of the PTA Committee and get a more active group of parents helping with the events. This is in addition to recruiting a new Vice Chair and Secretary. The PTA is simply a group of parents meeting once or twice a term to plot ways of raising money to enhance our children’s experiences and learning at the School. Members can give as little or as much time and energy as they can as it all adds up to make a really big difference. If you might be interested in joining the Committee or taking on the role of Vice Chair or Secretary please let us know.
