Home-calls and LFT!

Online live sessions have been a success, so far. Our teachers have done a great job getting regular sessions up and running quickly and efficiently, with a variety of activities on offer. Feedback from families – including pupils – has been excellent across the school. These lessons also help us keep tabs on how pupils are doing at home. From next week, we will begin contacting families working at home, just checking that everyone is doing as well as they can. PLEASE, PLEASE: don’t wait for us to contact you if you feel your child needs contacting. I am available during a day to pick up a phone and call.

Over the last few days, we have been very busy trying to organise Lateral Flow Testing for every Thurlbear staff member. Although complex and time-consuming to organise, prepare and administer, we firmly believe this will help keep us all safer in school and also add a layer of assurance in our day-to-day working, for both staff and families. We are hoping that this will begin next week.
