The Summer Term Begins

Week one of the Summer Term has ended and we are delighted to see the pupils back to their best. The field is cut, it’s dry and the sun has shone!

As always, there will be lots of information across the term, but we will update you all on the usual notices, dates updates as we go through the weeks ahead. Keeping in Touch: Tapestry for Chestnut and Class Dojo for every other class is the go-to place for specific class information from your teachers and, this week, you will find the latest half termly letter. This provides an overview of the learning taking place over the next six weeks at Thurlbear, as well as describing and explaining homework patterns, our Christian value (WISDOM) and tips on homework and links to learning. We provide this so all families can feel they know exactly what their child is experiencing. Here is an example of this half term’s documents:

In the next blog post, we will be posting all key dates that are important to families.

Our clubs are now up online and thank you for those that have already paid. Mrs Carter has added the names from our slips, so please do ensure we have your paper back so we can update before the school clubs start Monday afternoon. IMPORTANT: if you use childcare vouchers, please notify us every time you use them to make a payment and use this method. Some voucher schemes see the payments go into the Somerset county bank account it does not notify us, meaning we might not claim the money back (and Somerset doesn’t tell us!).

Menus have gone out – and this is the last time on paper! We are soon moving to an online ordering and payment system, which will be very exciting. More details to follow soon.

I am absolutely delighted to say we are full for next year 2024/25 intake (and families on the waiting list) and we will be inviting those families in soon to find out more about Thurlbear and what to expect!
